SHACL: A Description Logic in Disguise

چکیده
SHACL is a W3C-proposed language for expressing structural constraints on RDF graphs. In recent years, SHACL’s popularity has risen quickly. This rise in comes with questions related to its place the semantic web, particularly about relation OWL (the de facto standard ontological information web) and description logics (which form formal foundations of OWL). We answer these by arguing that fact logic. On one hand, our surprisingly simple, some might even say obvious. But, other also controversial. By resolving this issue once all, we establish field as solid SHACL.

ELT: A Trojan Horse in Disguise?
Many people believe that language teaching is a neutral practice. However, this belief is not without its own opponents. To many scholars, teaching languages cannot be devoid of teaching cultural values of the target language, which tacitly aims at denigrating cultural values of the community of the learners who are learning it. The ultimate purpose of such cultural oppression, according to the...
متن کاملA Description Logic Primer
This paper provides a self-contained first introduction to description logics (DLs). The main concepts and features are explained with examples before syntax and semantics of the DL SROIQ are defined in detail. Additional sections review lightweight DL languages, discuss the relationship to the OWL Web Ontology Language and give pointers to further reading.
متن کاملA Fuzzy Description Logic
Description Logics (DLs, for short) allow reasoning about individuals and concepts, i.e. set of individuals with common properties. Typically, DLs are limited to dealing with crisp, well defined concepts. That is, concepts for which the problem whether an individual is an instance of it is a yes/no question. More often than not, the concepts encountered in the real world do not have a precisely...
متن کاملShacl: Operational Semantics
In this section we describe the operational semantics for a small but significant subset of our language named Shacl-Lite. The operational semantics serves as a reference specification of the semantics of our language abstractions regarding domains and views. The operational semantics of Shacl-Lite was primarily based on an operational semantics for the AmbientTalk language [1] which in turn wa...
متن کاملA Description Logic of Change
We combine the modal logic S5 with the description logic (DL) ALCQI . The resulting multi-dimensional DL S5ALCQI supports reasoning about change by allowing to express that concepts and roles change over time. It cannot, however, discriminate between changes in the past and in the future. Our main technical result is that satisfiability of S5ALCQI concepts with respect to general TBoxes (includ...
